igoogle

Set up igoogle as my homepage, will have to add gadgets etc and have a play. Great potential.

Google Book Search

Had fun searching for titles online. Really useful for my year 10 history class who have just begun their research task.

Google Maps

Great site, so much fun and lots of applications for Ancient History. Kids loved looking at the pyramids!

Google Docs

Had my first look at Google Docs today. Lots of ideas provided by the templates. I am attempting to create a tracking log where I can document the progress of my history class through the steps of the inquiry process. I do say attempting!

What is this Web 2.0 business?

Library 2.0 is a loosely defined model for a modernized form of library service that reflects a transition within the library world in the way that services are delivered to users. The focus is on user-centered change and participation in the creation of content and community. [1] The concept of Library 2.0 borrows from that of Business 2.0 and Web 2.0 and follows some of the same underlying philosophies. This includes online services like the use of OPAC systems and an increased flow of information from the user back to the library.
Finally have the blog up and running. Happy to get started finally after procrastinating for so long. Haven't really decided what to blog about but I was thinking of talking about the inquiry process in history as my Year 10's are currently beginning their research inquiry.
